Rosh Chodesh Shvat Gathering
“Food for the Soul:” An in depth and hands on examination of the tikkun (rectification) of this month- the act of eating. We will celebrate with a “Aleph B’Shvat Seder” replete with all the types of fruits and goodies from the 7 holy species of Israel and learn about the spiritual significances of each fruit. Please RSVP to Aviva with the particular fruit you would like to bring to share.

Mystical Insights of the Early Chasidic Masters – with Rabbi Asi
Part one – The Baal Shem Tov

Playing the guitar, singing and telling stories and words of Torah, Rabbi Asi will share fascinating spiritual wisdom of the Chasidim and its relevancy to our lives today.

The focus will be “The Master of the good name” – the founder of the Chasidic movement some 300 years ago. The Master’s life story and his unique Torah insights that inspired the hearts of thousand of Jews across eastern Europe and moved them to mystical ecstasy.

The focus will be “The Mezritcher Maggid” – the leader of the second generation of Chasidism.
We will talk about his mystical experiences and explore his teachings about meditation. Especially his revolutionary approach to nullification of the self through prayer.
